The park entrance is 70km (45 miles) east of Hambantota and 30 km (19 miles) east of Tissa. There are two entrances to the reserve. The main gate is at Palatupana, 20 km from Tissamaharama. The other gate is on the Kataragama - Situlpahuwa road.
