Kithulgala (Kelani Valley Forest Reserve) was established to protect the watershed of the Kelani River. It is home to many of Sri Lanka''s endemic fauna and flora. Kithulgala is more widely known as the location for the filming of ''The Bridge on the River Kwai''.
Wildlife A good number of endemic birds including the Spot-winged Thrush, Green-billed Coucal, Red-faced Malkoha, Ceylon Grey Hornbill, Yellow-fronted Barbet, Ceylon Spurfowl, Ceylon Rufous Babbler, Ceylon Scimitar Babbler and Ceylon Frogmouth. Mammals include Grizzled Indian Squirrel and Layard''s Striped Squirrel. The streams hold endemic fish and amphibians and the Earless Lizard is frequently seen.

I got some photographers of those but I don’t like to publish .If our old visitors did the same thing we can’t see this beauty now. So let the visitors who will come tomorrow feel the same real natural beauty of this place like you. Keep this place clean. Please think this is our country, Our valuable places so we have to protect it for our Childers. If we don’t who else do it.
So have fun of the journey and feel the places and don’t left garbage.Take those home and do required action to save our environment'
