The sound is sweet. But it falls on people’s hearts like a waterfall. The tone, the rhythm, the strength, lift up listener's souls to the peak with indulgence. Nadeeka Jayawardana. An outstanding young musician who chose a different path of music. Born in 1979, Nadeeka showed his unparalleled talent since his early ages. Mr. Godwin Jayawardana & Mrs. Chandani Jayawardana his beloved parents could foresee that their son is not another ordinary boy. They knew what his heart was filled with and influenced him to study music. When Nadeeka was only 10 Mr. Godwin Jayawardana took Nadeeka to Mr. Shelton Premaratne, one of the greatest musicians in Sri Lanka. Mr. Premaratne was impressed by Nadeeka’s born talent and he trained Nadeeka to become one of the best student in his class. Dudley Senanayake College, Narahenpita was first almamater he attended. Later he entered to Asoka College, Colombo for further studies. It was a perfect place for Nadeeka’s music career. Mr. Lesley Wijewikrama & Mrs. Dhammika Karunaratne were the music teachers whopolished Nadeeka’s musical knowledge and talent. They pointed Nadeeka to various competitions, concerts, events, TV and radio programs such as “Udara†& “Heta pipena mal†Etc. They strengthened Nadeeka to become what he is now. At this time Nadeeka met Kalindu Weerasinghe, son of Mr. Rohana Weerasinghe. They felt what they had in common. As a result Nadeeka & Kalindu started their first band “Charming Cybs†along with Wihanga, Sanka, Thusitha, Chamila & Amila. Nadeeka was flourished by their first concert. “Charming Cybs†was embraced by the public. Nadeeka’s first duet with Lakmini Udawatta had blossomed people’s hearts. The huge success of the concert lead them to record their own tracks. Since then Nadeeka began to work with other bands. Nadeeka met Asthika Devendra, a wonderful young fellow at Rupavahini Cooperation. Nadeeka did his first composition with Asthika and they did some more recordings. While they were working on Kalindu introduced Nadeeka to Billy Fernando. Another young talented musician. Craziness began here. Billy and Nadeeka along with Nilin Sumath started the famous “Acid Rain†band. It was a whole new experience for Nadeeka. He could come up with a different western touch and people begun to know him as a good vocalist as well as a guitarist. |
